From the moment we arrived at Ben Huon Manor, it felt like stepping into a beautiful English country home. Everything—from the grand house to the peaceful gardens—was elegant, calm, and welcoming.
We stayed for three nights, and every detail was just perfect.
The house has so much character, with beautiful antiques, timeless furniture, cozy lounges, and a warm fireplace that made us feel instantly relaxed. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down and truly unwind.
Our rooms were spacious and comfortable, with soft linens, fresh flowers, lovely views, and all the little touches that show real care. Waking up to the sounds of birds and a view to die for was such a peaceful way to start the day.
But without a doubt, the highlight of our stay was the incredible high tea, made by James himself.
It was more than just a meal—it was a real experience. We were served in a bright sunroom overlooking the gardens, with beautiful china and fresh flowers and candelabras on the table. The food was absolutely amazing: soft sandwiches, warm scones with jam and cream, and the most stunning cakes and pastries we’ve ever seen. Everything tasted even better than it looked.
James was so warm and welcoming. You could tell he puts his heart into everything he makes, and he took the time to chat with us and tell us about the ingredients and where they came from. That personal touch made the whole experience feel really special.
Every part of our stay felt thoughtful and full of charm—morning walks in the garden, evenings by the fire, and peaceful nights in a room that felt like home.
Thank you for your amazing hospitality James and Suzanna - can’t wait to come back!!
